Charity Mountain Walk

It has been almost two weeks since we ventured to Carlingford, Co. Louth to undertake a sponsored climb of Slieve Foye. We were extremely lucky in that the weather was fine and there was no sign of rain. (That would have made it much more difficult!) The ascent was not nearly as tiring as I had anticipated, it was actually quite enjoyable. However I will admit that with all the stopping we did throughout the morning it took the good out of it slightly. Some of us enjoyed a tasty lunch at the Carlingford Arms Hotel once we had descended. It was a most enjoyable morning and all for two good causes, and to top that we have raised many thousands of euro for both and we are still counting. It is great encouragement in the times that are in it that people are still so generous.

The Technology Fast

I decided that I was not going to take part in the technology fast as I could not see that there was any obvious benefit to it. Although the fact that it took place on a Friday and Saturday meant that I did not need to view my e-mails and I unintentionally fasted from using the internet as I was busy with work. I did however use my mobile phone as I use it every day and I was unwilling to go without using it for two days and I also need to use my mobile phone for work for ordering etc.

I think that nowadays it is virtually impossible for business to function without the use of technology. Obviously business took place before the existence of the technologies we now have at our disposal however, since there is such reliance on it nowadays it would be very hard for a company to function any way efficiently without the use of modern technology.

Some benefits of m-commerce and wireless technology

Mobile commerce has become increasingly popular as has wireless technology. We now have mobile phones or mobile devices as they are now known as there are many more uses for them than simply making phone calls and sending text messages. M-commerce has become a very popular way through which to purchase and sell products. E-bay alone is proof of this as everybody knows how popular this site is and many of us have used it to buy something and some to sell unwanted goods. Wireless technology enables people to communicate more easily through a number of methods such as e-mail and social media. For companies wireless networking saves money and time by eliminating the need for wiring in the office for internet connection and it also helps to simplify a move to a different premises.
