It has been almost two weeks since we ventured to
Carlingford, Co. Louth to undertake a sponsored climb of Slieve Foye. We were
extremely lucky in that the weather was fine and there was no sign of rain.
(That would have made it much more difficult!) The ascent was not nearly as tiring
as I had anticipated, it was actually quite enjoyable. However I will admit
that with all the stopping we did throughout the morning it took the good out
of it slightly. Some of us enjoyed a tasty lunch at the Carlingford Arms Hotel
once we had descended. It was a most enjoyable morning and all for two good
causes, and to top that we have raised many thousands of euro for both and we
are still counting. It is great encouragement in the times that are in it that
people are still so generous.
